I don’t even have to say what the fuck. It is implied. Read this press release at Gotham Comics and you’ll understand what has got me to this point of pure anger. Apparently Peter Parker is now Pavitr Prabhakar.

When I first saw it I thought it was a spoof or something. But this is the Gotham Comics website. It’s a goddamn press release. There’s some fairly high quality artwork of Spider-man in a fucking dhoti.

Honestly, who the hell are they trying to appeal to? Even the farmers in India have better fashion sense. Look at the shoes!

Someone has completely lost their minds. They call it transcreation. I call it crap.

    I personally think that ‘good luck’ tikka is tres chic. I’m sorry, ‘phull ishtylish bhidu’.

    I give it 2 months before they realise that this is a colossal mistake and fire the idiot who thought of it.

    The great Indian market needs to be tapped….after all if dubbed versions of hollywood movies are such a hit, why not go the whole hog and indianise american icons as well; so now we can look forward to Batman: Chamkila Chimgadhar etc with anticipation. These guys will have suitable accents, speak Hinglish or Pinglish and maybe change in the local Sarvajanik Muthralaya [we do have telephone booths too, though, but someone might be looking in, haaaaw]. We have Gotham, but we call it Patna. Goregaon or Ghatkopar will do, no? And think of the naach gaana, and Spidey [er...Pavity?] doing Ishq Samandar with a bodacious Indain babe. We can even make it into a TV serial on Star…Batwoman renamed Kokila [must start with a K] and her saas….oh but this is too good to be true.
